The Isle of Endless Summer

Drawn about a weeks ago; took me maybe two days to finish it. :3 Those darned thorn vines took forever. >.<

Anyway -- 'tis a pic of the main character of yet another story series I've been writing (I have the whole plot outlined, yay! \/).

A young girl (about 11, 12 years old) gets inadvertently left on a tropical island shortly before a monsoon hits.

After having been there a few weeks, marooned on the island and quickly discovering that she's its sole inhabitant, she ends up throwing away the soiled rags that had been her clothes and decides to explore the island a bit, and finds a place she ends up calling The Point (shown in the picture).

Note: the masses of viney-stuff near the palm trees are actually thorn-covered vines (with BIG sickle thorns! >:D). I just didn't have the patience to draw the thorns after I drew the vines. n.n; I'll add them in when I color the pic.

P.S.: I have no idea what the official botanical name of them is, but in 'Delirious' (starring John Candy), John Candy's character gets a huge thorn in his butt when he falls off his horse, and the blonde woman (can't remember her name) who saved him calls it a 'sickle thorn'.
